Mat-based Pilates, taught on-site

Corporate Pilates in London, built for desk-bound bodies

Corporate Pilates classes bring a proper, low-impact strength session into a London office, taught on a mat by the same teacher each week or fortnight. It sits alongside our combined corporate yoga and Pilates offer, but goes deeper on Pilates alone, for teams who want to focus on posture, core strength and the muscular imbalance that comes from sitting at a desk all day.

Corporate Pilates

01 — The session

Pilates is a low-impact method of exercise built around controlled, precise movement. Done well, it improves strength and flexibility, eases stress and does a lot for posture, which is exactly why it suits office teams. Every job creates its own pattern of movement, and a desk job is no exception. Sitting or standing the same way for hours leaves some muscle groups tight and others weak, and over time that shows up as back, neck, leg or foot problems. Pilates works to rebalance the body against that pattern rather than add to it.

Sessions are mat-based. Your teacher starts with a few gentle stretches, then moves into Pilates exercises designed to challenge, strengthen and mobilise the body, so people leave feeling lengthened and steadier on their feet rather than wiped out. Many teams book Corporate Pilates alongside our combined corporate yoga and Pilates classes, using Pilates weeks to focus on strength and posture and yoga weeks for a broader stretch and reset.

02 — How it runs on the day

1

Teacher arrives and sets up

Your teacher brings mats and any props needed and sets up quietly in a meeting room, breakout space or any other clear corner of the office.

2

Gentle warm-up

A few gentle stretches ease everyone in and give the teacher a chance to check for anything to work around before the main session.

3

Mat-based Pilates

A sequence of Pilates exercises paced for mixed ability, working through core strength, alignment and the muscles that hold posture together.

4

Cool-down and pack-away

A short cool-down closes the session, then the teacher packs everything away and leaves the room as they found it.

03 — Who it suits

Corporate Pilates suits teams who already know they want to work on posture and core strength specifically, rather than a broader yoga class, as well as anyone whose job involves long stretches at a desk or on their feet in one position. It works well as a standalone booking or as one strand of a wider programme that also includes our combined corporate yoga and Pilates classes.

04 — FAQ

Asked often.

Do we need Pilates mats, or can you supply them?

We supply Pilates mats at a reduced rate, so there's nothing for your office to buy or store. If you'd rather use your own, that works too.

What if we don't have much floor space?

If space is tight, we can run a chair-based session instead, the same idea adapted so nobody needs to get down on a mat. We offer this for yoga classes too when a room can't fit a full mat layout.

Do we need mats for a one-off class?

Not always. For one-off sessions we can teach the opening and closing relaxation with people seated in a chair, and work through standing postures in between. Some people prefer to bring a towel for the final relaxation instead.

Can Pilates be combined with yoga?

Yes, many teams alternate, using Pilates weeks for strength and posture work and yoga weeks for a broader stretch. Our combined corporate yoga and Pilates page covers that option if you'd rather mix the two from the start.

Is there an online or hybrid option?

Yes. A hybrid format streams the in-office class to colleagues working from home, and we can record sessions so people who missed it live can watch back later. Both carry an additional fee.

What if some of the team have never tried Pilates?

That's fine. Sessions are paced for mixed levels, so first-timers and regulars are comfortable in the same room.
